Houston Weekend Weather Forecast for January 23–25, 2026

This weekend brings a little of everything to Houston. We start with warm clouds, move into a steady Saturday rain, and finish with a sharp cold drop and a mix of rain and snow by Sunday. If you have outdoor plans, you will want a backup plan and a warm coat.

Friday: Warm but Overcast

Friday stays cloudy from morning to night. Temperatures reach the upper 60s in the afternoon and fall into the upper 50s by night. While the clouds remain thick, the day stays dry. Light east winds around 12 mph may gust near 24 mph at times.

Because conditions stay calm, Friday is the most comfortable day of the weekend. Although skies stay gray, the mild air helps evening plans. Roads stay dry, and visibility stays good.

Saturday: Cooler with Steady Rain

Saturday turns wet and much cooler. Daytime highs sit near the low 50s. Morning readings start in the mid-50s but fall through the day. Evening temperatures slip into the mid-40s. Expect widespread rain with about a quarter inch possible.

Winds shift out of the north and climb near 13 mph with higher gusts. Because of the chill and the rain, you will want a jacket and an umbrella. If you plan to drive, expect slower traffic on wet roads. For detailed updates, check our weather page.

  • High: 53°F
  • Low: 40°F
  • Rain likely all day
  • Gusts near 24 mph

Sunday: Cold Air Arrives with Rain and Snow

Sunday brings the most dramatic change of the weekend. Cold air moves in before sunrise. Afternoon highs reach only the low 30s. Overnight lows drop to about 30°F. A mix of light rain and snow develops, especially in the morning and evening. While accumulation looks very light, bridges and elevated roads could become slick.

Northwest winds increase to near 17 mph with gusts close to 29 mph. Because of the combined cold, wind, and wintry mix, outdoor plans will be uncomfortable. Pets and plants will need protection.

  • High: 33°F
  • Low: 30°F
  • Rain and snow mix
  • Strong north winds

What to Expect

The weekend brings a clear cool-down. Friday stays mild and cloudy. Saturday turns wet and chilly. Sunday becomes cold with a light wintry mix. Plan for rain gear and warm layers. Keep travel flexible, especially late Saturday and Sunday.

We will keep watching the changing pattern and bring updates as confidence grows. Houston weather can shift fast, and this weekend is a good example of that. Stay safe and stay warm.
