Houston Weekend Forecast: Cool, Clear, and Calm Conditions Ahead

This weekend brings a stretch of cool, calm weather to Houston. Temperatures stay below normal, but the skies turn sunnier as we move from Friday into the second half of the weekend. If you like crisp air and bright sunshine, this is your kind of forecast.

Friday: Overcast and Cool

Friday stays cloudy from morning through evening as overcast conditions hold across the region. Morning temperatures start near 38°F, then rise to a cool afternoon high of about 52°F. Skies remain gray, but rain is not expected.

Winds stay light from the north near 12 mph, with gusts around 26 mph. Evening temperatures fall back to the lower 50s, and overnight lows dip to about 48°F.

While the day stays quiet, the cloud cover keeps things feeling cooler. Because of that, anyone heading out after dark will want a jacket.

Saturday: Bright Sunshine and Dry Air

Saturday brings a full change in the sky. Sunshine returns, and conditions stay dry. However, the air remains chilly. Afternoon highs top out near 42°F, with very low humidity around 20%.

Morning temperatures start in the low 40s, then fall to the upper 30s by night. Winds increase slightly and blow from the north near 16 mph, with gusts around 27 mph. Although the sun provides some warmth, the breeze keeps the day feeling crisp.

Because the air is dry and cool, the weather stays perfect for outdoor plans that need clear skies. Even so, the wind will add a chill, so layering up is a good idea.

Sunday: Cold Morning, Mild Afternoon

Sunday begins with the coldest air of the weekend. Morning temperatures start near freezing at 33°F. Sunshine builds quickly, though, and brings afternoon highs up to around 45°F.

Winds calm down and stay near 8 mph with lighter gusts. Evening temperatures reach the lower 50s before settling back to about 44°F overnight. Skies remain clear all day, and humidity stays low.

This will be the nicest day of the weekend for outdoor activities. Clear skies and light winds give the day a smoother feel than Saturday. Because the morning is cold, early risers should prepare for a winterlike start.

Weekend Wrap-Up

The weekend stays dry from start to finish. Friday brings clouds, but Saturday and Sunday offer bright sunshine. No rain, no storms, and no major wind concerns are expected.

  • Friday: Overcast and cool, highs near 52°F.
  • Saturday: Sunny and chilly, highs near 42°F.
  • Sunday: Cold start, mild afternoon with highs near 45°F.
